Since 2005 UBU has worked on development projects in Arusha region, Tanzania. The projects were funded by the Civil Society Fund.

Meviwasu – Water Board Support Project, Arusha Region, Tanzania (2010-2012)
The aim of this project was to strengthen the Meviwasu (Mukulati – Enaboishu Villages Water Supply) Board through capacity building of leading a sustainable water supply.
The activities included promotion of user payment, installation of water meters, training of local water committees, establishing a system for administration of working capital, maintenance and service extension.
Furthermore the project included capacity building of the local inhabitants in the area to change their habits, to value the water resource and share the scarce water resource in a sustainable way.
Local management of water and health in Likamba, Arusha Region, Tanzania (2006-2009)
The overall aim of this project was to improve the health conditions in Likamba through improved water supply and by building latrines. Furthermore there was a focus on creating awareness on hygiene.
Focus was put on developing a project where the decisions were made locally with the presence of the local authorities. Furthermore the project activities were administrated and conducted by our local partner organisations.
